Ah, England

Standard

I’m happy to see Tapisserie from London is back online.  What a gorgeous looking shop it is, don’t you think?

You really must check out their outrageous slippers. Totally Florida!

Sigh.

I wish I could just pop in and purchase this delightful bag, as I’m already having a war with the one I just bought.

Glad I was able to buy my prized English countryside canvas there a few years back.  A few people have inquired if I wish to part with it, but to date I have had to turn them down.

I really should get down to stitching it one of these days!

Here are snaps taken from my trip last month to New York City.  You see my hometown, Bronxville, many MANY pics of the new Native Plants area at the New York Botanical Gardens, scenes of the Bronxville Boys Scout field, of course pictures of my adventures in Manhattan.

Enjoy!

Gorgeous Santa Stocking

Standard
Christmas Stocking

Christmas Stocking

I would love to hang this beauty on my mantle.

This is one of many Melissa Shirley Christmas stockings that my friend, Maria, has stitched.  Her use of decorative stitches and threads is always perfection.

As you can see, there are  lots of glittery accents.  The snowy ground is done using random long and short stitches in white and pale blue metallics.

Santa’s coat is the diagonal mosaic stitched with a beautiful rich, red silk.

The trim on Santa’s coat is done all in perfect French Knots (hundreds of them), which is a feat in itself.

And, finally, the beard is  Rainbow Gallery’s Fancy Fur in satin stitch.

Well done Maria!  Beautiful work.
